Why hurricane in a box?

I am a force of nature, that’s why.

my journey this life is as a creative, maker and catalyst. i draw, paint, design, build, construct and grow everything i engage with.

i started out wondering and being curious of everything. Later, as a young adult, I had my first real jobs working at art stores, where i learned about every possible material, surface and technique with which to combine those elements.

i practiced calligraphy, graphic design, illustration and fine art. I learned to make and construct things: clothing, interiors, artworks, experiences. I push every boundary while respecting the energy that is present. The artist tools I most fell in love with were dry pastels and oil paints. IN my iPad work, I create dreamlike worlds that I otherwise don’t envision with traditional materials.

Much of my art is reflective of my experience living in the desert southwest. My bright palette has been largely influenced by indigenous and latino cultures. I create a lot of big sky and landscape work. You really can hear how big the universe is, by being still and listening to the desert. I am comfortable being a smidgeon of stardust in that big space, just as I am comfortable painting single subject works, like little frozen moments of time.

I paint things that amuse me. i imbue my creations with life and then i delight in their living. I believe that big energy can co-exist with silence; that laughter is light; kindness is basic to happiness; and creating joyful moments is a worthy, just pursuit and a valued use of time.

i am inspired to illuminate the world with creative energy and to make it a little better for everyone every single day. I hope you enjoy my creations.
